Magic Dot Fabric Color Guide
It’s here. Everything you wanted to know about the colors of Magic Dot arriving to shops in October 2024. I catalog every collection so I went through and checked for the best coordinates so you don’t have to. Let’s get started.
Here’s your thorough breakdown of all 20 colors of Magic Dot to be a helpful guide. I’ll list the coordinating Moda Bella Solids, as well as current and former Lella Boutique collections they match.
5230-32 “Strawberry”
There are two reds in the collection. This is called “Strawberry” and has multicolored dots in white, pinks, and a darker red. Its coordinating Moda Bella solid is 9900 47 “Scarlet” and really only coordinates with my Little Tree collection (at least for now *wink wink*).
5230-15 “Cherry”
This is “Cherry” and is tonal with a darker dot. The coordinating Moda Bella solid is 9900 230 “Cherry.” This coordinates with Christmas Morning, Christmas Eve, and Old Glory. It is pretty much identical to the “Merry Dot” version from Christmas Eve.
5230 33 “Raspberry”
Here’s “Raspberry,” and as you can see, it could blend in with quite a few of my older collections (Garden Variety, Olive’s Flower Market, Farmer’s Daughter, and Little Miss Sunshine) + upcoming Hey Boo. Coordinating Moda Bella solid is 9900 299 “Flamingo.”
5230 34 “Pink Lemonade”
Time for a little “Pink Lemonade” and this one is closest to the pale pink in Lovestruck (for now). Coordinating Moda Bella solid is #9900 120 “Betty’s Pink.”
5230 11 “Coral”
Say hello to “Coral,” which matches the upcoming Hey Boo group. It’s not an exact match to – but is closest to Moda Bella solid #9900 147 “Coral.”
5230 44 “Goldie”
This is one of the few that is not an exact match to a past collection (closest to Folktale), but this is really what I wanted for future. “Goldie” is warm and that perfect golden color, and matches Moda Bella solid #9900 103 “Golden Wheat.”
5230 18 “Sage”
This one coordinates with my most recent Christmas collections Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning. The Moda Bella solid coordinate is #9900 35 “Sage.”
5230 19 “Fern”
As you can tell, I definitely have my favorite green for a lot of my collections. This “Fern” color coordinates with Country Rose, Lovestruck, Christmas Morning, and Christmas Eve. There isn’t really a coordinating Moda Bella solid I have found! That’s not to say there isn’t a solid in existence somewhere from a different manufacturer.
5230 20 “Forest”
I haven’t really had much of a “Forest” green color in my collections (yet). This isn’t an exact match to the Love Note collection exactly, but I included it for comparison because I think it could look great incorporated with the group. This has been one of my favorites to use so far (as seen in the background of my newest version of the Spring Fling quilt). This is kind of in between a couple Moda Bella solids but is closest to #9900 43 “Pine.”
5230 42 “Cotton Candy”
“Cotton Candy” blends great with Lovestruck (it matches better than it looks in the photo). Coordinates with Moda Bella solid #9900 37 “Mist.”
5230 43 “Sky”
This one is so pretty!! I try not to play favorites but this is really such a gorgeous blue. It blends perfectly with Old Glory. Coordinating Moda Bella solid is #9900 207 “Glacier.”
5230 41 “Midnight”
This is another one of the rare ones that doesn’t match a collection master color. It does coordinate nicely with the navy bits of Old Glory and coordinates with Moda Bella solid #9900 174 “American Blue.”
5230 17 “Silver”
I think this one is going to make a lot of people happy! This “Silver” color coordinates with Christmas Morning, Christmas Eve, and Old Glory. I know it sold out when many people were making their Reindeer Xing quilts so you’ll be happy to know it’s a perfect match as shown below. Coordinating Moda Bella solid is #9900 83 “Gray.”
5230 16 “Dove”
This is another goodie! “Dove” matches the Christmas collections Christmas Morning and Christmas Eve. (Also seen in Reindeer Xing.) Coordinates with Moda Bella solid #9900 128 “Stone.”
5230 37 “Americana”
This one is fun. The “Americana” dot boasts of a multicolor combination of red, blue, and greys to coordinate with the Old Glory collection and beyond. Notice it is not the same scale as the dot in Old Glory – but is a wonderful alternative as I know shops are already selling out of Old Glory. The background coordinating Moda Bella solid is #9900 200 “Off White.”
5230 39 “Cloud”
This is the most popular one, yay! This one coordinates with so many of my collections and is the perfect white background with that special flare of tonal dot. I’ve compared it with a few collections below but it is literally perfect for any of them. Coordinating Moda Bella solid #9900 200 “Off White.”
5230 38 “Christmas”
The final white is the “Christmas” variation boasting of red, greens, and light grey. As you can see, it’s almost identical to the one of Christmas Eve! Coordinating Moda Bella solid is #9900 200 “Off White.”
5230 35 “Nutmeg”
This one is so pretty. This blends great with Harvest Road and Lovestruck. Coordinating Moda Bella solid is #9900 129 “Weathered Teak.”
5230 40 “Flax”
“Flax” blends great with Flower Pot – and also just a great blender when you want a soft neutral that is a bit warmer than a grey. Coordinates with Moda Bella solid #9900 241 “Flax.”
5230 36 “Charcoal”
You know I love a good charcoal, and this one coordinates with Country Rose, Farmer’s Daughter, Smoke & Rust, and Hey Boo. Coordinating Moda Bella solid is #9900 284 “Charcoal.”

March 7, 2024 at 7:05 amI LOVE this!!! I hoe it’s a staple too. I take too long to decide what I’m making with my fat quarter bundles and then have a hard time finding the right amount of coordinates. I love all of your lines so I will use these a lot I’m sure!

March 7, 2024 at 2:33 pmThank you Vanessa for going through your collections and finding the magic dots that coordinate beautifully. Was just trying to find a blue magic dot that would coordinate with Folktale (in the Sparkler pattern). Settled on Country Rose’s smokey- hope it will work. Impossible to find the blue dots from Folktale. Love all your collections, excitedly anticipating your new lines!
