Fat Eighth quilts Lovestruck fabric Spring Quilts

“Flutter” Butterfly Quilt in Grey

It’s been a real week already – and it’s only Tuesday. (Yikes.) I’m feeling thankful I get to focus on my favorite of all the new Lovestruck quilts today. (It’s honestly magical they way pretty fabric and quilts can lift your spirit, right?) So this is yet another “Flutter” butterfly quilt – but with a nice dark background to make those cheery colors pop.

Whenever I’m piecing a quilt with a good amount of open space, I LOVE sending it off to Natalia Bonner for custom quilting. This was one of those occasions – take a peek! She created a gorgeous diamond pattern around the butterflies.

Pattern Tidbits

The “Flutter” butterfly quilt pattern is fat eight friendly. (Each fat eighth yelds a set of top and bottom wings that you can mix and match around.) I consider the skill level “confident beginner,” as we use a beginner easy-corner triangle technique to add the angles.

Even though Lovestruck fabric is still a ways away from arriving (November), the patterns are available in the shop now in PDF or printed booklet formats. I won’t be carrying the fabric/kits, so it’s recommended you reach out to your favorite local or online shop to make the request now (while they can order it). Hope that helps!

Obsessed doesn’t beginner to cover this custom quilting by Natalia Bonner. She has such a vision that blows my mind every time. It is hard to do it just in a photograph.

Both quilts are beautiful! I normally lean towards a dark background but this time I like the light background better! Quilting is beautiful!

They are both beautiful but the dark grey is my favorite! It would depend on who the quilt is being made for.

I loved the grey and then went and looked and the light background and now I have a hard decision to make! I’m going to have to order the pattern and figure out which way to make it😩

I thought I really loved the white background. But this dark gray is really stunning. That custom quilting absolutely made this quilt! Amazing!
