Sewcialites Quilt Along: Free Block of the Week (Block 21)
Another week, another new quilt block for the Sewcialites Quilt Along by Fat Quarter Shop. Block 21 is “Zest” by Moda designer Brigitte Heitand of Zen Chic.

Fabric + Layout
I couldn’t decide between piecing an all-solid block vs. scrappy so of course I made both. Which one is your favorite? I don’t honestly think I can choose. Fabric is Christmas Morning for Moda Fabrics shipping July 2021. I made the 6″ finished version. (The instructions are available for 3″, 6″, or 9″ finished size options). I’m making 40 blocks total and grouping them by color: 10 red blocks + 12 green blocks + 16 grey blocks + 2 low volume. Once you see my quilt layout, this breakdown will make a lot more sense:
