Time for a frightfully fun Halloween sampler project from Lella Boutique. Pick your favorite 16″ Halloween blocks from the Hey Boo pattern pattern collection and get ready for a spooky good time. One thing we know for sure – stitching up a Monster Mash Quilt is all fun and no fright.

The Fabric

I used my Hey Boo fabric that came out April 2024. I’m not sure if there any shops with kits left, but you may be able to find some by searching online. You could also use a current Halloween fabric collection – or if you want a similar look – use the coordinating solids of Hey Boo listed here.

The Block Patterns

The Monster Mash sampler quilt uses (6) block designs from the Hey Boo pattern collection. Each of the blocks finishes at 16″ x 16″. There are two ways to get these block patterns. The block patterns originate from #230 Ghost Town, #231 Pushing Up Daisies, #232 Frank (easily adjusted to 16″ finished), and #233Tricks & Treats. If you’ve already purchased these patterns, you’re all set! I have also released individual block downloads here ($5 each) if you’d prefer to get them a la carte. I’ve used the layout from my Ghost Town quilt – but with lighter colors for the sashing. Here are the quick links to what you’ll need to make Monster Mash:

    I am so excited about this line of fabrics, and The Monster Mash Sampler Quilt sew along. Does the bundle have all of the patterns needed to make this?

      Yes! The pattern bundle includes all 4 patterns you need for the sampler + “The Web” quilt pattern as well. It’s the best value since you will be able to get multiple uses out of those patterns.

    This is such a cute halloween quilt! I think I’ll make it for our grandson changing out the flower, then making it for our granddaughter as is except changing the skeleton to another ghost.     Hi Vanessa, I pre-ordered all the fabrics to make several of your “Hey Boo” quilts and I purchased The Hey Boo pattern bundle from your shop. So, I did not purchase the Monster Mash kit because I had already reserved all the fabric. Will I still be able to participate in the prize giveaways and quilt along? I did subscribe to the blog but I have never received anything as of yet. Would I have received any newsletter from the blog? I am so excited about your fabric collection. I have never been a Halloween person but when I saw your new “Hey Boo” fabric collection and all those beautiful quilts, I wanted to make them all!

    The materials list is not available for printing or downloading without signing in to some other system — won’t do that.
    Can you provide the pdf file directly, please?
    Also I could not find a link to the pattern bundle for this QAL. Looking forward to it!
