Hubba Hubba {Scrappy Tile Quilt}
Oooh la la! It’s always love at first sight with the “Hubba Hubba” tile quilt. This scrappy Halloween version in Hey Boo fabric adds a fun new twist on the design by splitting the background into two different prints. Let “Hubba Hubba” steal your heart this month as September’s $5 pattern of the month!
Make it in Hey Boo
The “Hubba Hubba” tile quilt is Layer Cake friendly and a great way to showcase a collection. To make a scrappy version like this one, split the 3 yards of a single background print into (2) 1-1/2 yard cuts instead. Per the cutting instructions (Step #3) – cut (9) strips per background print to yield (64) F squares per print. Here’s a breakdown of materials in Hey Boo:
- (1) Layer Cake® (32 squares 10” x 10”) (SKU 5210LC)
- 2-1/8 yards charcoal print for block frames (SKU 5215 16)
- 1-1/2 yards background print #1 (SKU 5214 11)
- 1-1/2 yards background print #2 (SKU 5215 11)
- 2/3 yard binding fabric (SKU 5212 15)
- 6-1/4 yards backing fabric (pick your fave print)
- 85″ x 85″ batting
The Original Single-Print Version
Of course, there is nothing wrong with the single print version – just depends on the look you’re going for. Here is the original version of the tile quilt in Bloomington fabric, details about it are included HERE.
Which version is best? Scrappy or single-print?
