St. Nick Quilt in Christmas Eve Fabric

He’s making a list and checking it twice… St. Nick is coming to town! Here’s another new quilt in the Christmas Eve fabric collection coming May 2023. This quilt is my favorite of the bunch! (Who can resist a quilt full of Santas?!) The holly-and-berry-leaf sashing really has my heart too.

The Fabric

“St. Nick” is a jolly ol’ Jelly Roll quilt made in Christmas Eve fabric arriving to shops May 2023. The Jelly Roll (40 strips 2-1/2″ x WOF) yields the pieces needed for the holly and berry leaf units – the sashing. (You can also use a Layer Cake or fat eighths.) For theCute full materials list, visit the St. Nick pattern information here. Even though Christmas Eve fabric won’t arrive until May, the St. Nick quilt patternhttps://lellaboutique.com/search?q=ST+NICK is available in the shop now in PDF or printed booklet formats. It’s pure joy to piece this one.

The Layout

9 cute little Santa blocks are set in a 3×3 setting with charming holly-and-berry-leaf sashing. I made all of my Santas look the same but you could always give them slightly different looks with different red and low volume prints for his hat. And fun fact – before the outer white block border is added to each Santa, the Santa block measures 16-1/2″ x 16-1/2″ unfinished. This is the same as the blocks from all of my other new Christmas Eve patterns! This means you could Santa blocks out for other Christmas motifs and make it a fun sampler with Santa, reindeer, wreaths, tree blocks, and even a pinwheel made from the “Dashing” pattern blocks if you’d like.

Quilt Details

I’m loving the “Cable Weave” design Katie at Katie’s Quilting Co used on the St. Nick quilt. It adds such a wonderful texture to the quilt overall.
