Moda Blockheads 4 (Block 24)
I blinked – and there was a new block for Moda Blockheads 4 free block of the week. This one is so darling! Block 24 is “Outtakes” by Vanessa Christenson of V & Co. Visit her blog to download the free pattern today.
Block 24 “Outtakes”
Mine looks a little funny – I used an earlier draft of the pattern and tried cutting my own pieces merely using the 60 degree angle mark on my cutting mat. I looked up the updated pattern afterwards and found there are FPP pattern pieces available. I would definitely recommend piecing these using that technique – they will be much more precise!
Fabric
The first batch of blocks (above) is made using Flower Pot fabric. I’ll be sharing the layout option for this one very soon. It’s super simple and uses a couple charm packs in conjunction with the Moda Blockheads sampler blocks.
This other block is made from the Love Note collection. I’m starting to have an idea for the layout of this one. It’s been tricky since they are so small (4.5″ finished) and close to a few dozen of them. I’ve toyed with the idea of making it into a baby quilt but am still unsure…

August 31, 2022 at 12:14 pmI checked out Vanessa’s webpage / Blog. Nothing there on this block, or maybe I’m not looking well enough. I did enter the block title in the search function to no avail. Thanks for your wonderful website, blog and Blockheads sew-alongs!!! Cherie
