Moda Blockheads 4: (Block 15)
Happy Wednesday! There is yet again a new block for Moda Blockheads 4 free block of the week. The new little darling comes to us from Crystal Manning. Meet Block 15: “Highland Plaid.” Be sure to visit Crystal’s blog today to download the free block pattern.
Block 15 “Highland Plaid”
I’m a sucker for any quilt that mimics a plaid or gingham sort of design. In fact, I’ve been meaning to make a gingham quilt in Flower Pot fabrics and am really hoping to still get on that. There is nothing super tricky about piecing this block – besides the small pieces required for the 4.5″ finished version.
Fabric
The first block is made in Love Note. As I looked at my pile of Love Note blocks, I felt like the blue category was a bit neglected so I focused on those hues this time around. Look at that cute little fussy-cut center block. Aw.
This second set is made in Flower Pot. There are a number of ways you could play with color placement and arrangement here and these show just a couple of them.

July 1, 2022 at 4:23 amThank you for the link and the pattern. I love that this block gives us more uses for our smaller scrap pieces from leftover projects. Its adorable and provides us with an ability to use smaller scrap fabric that we might otherwise toss.

So the new block is only supposed to be available on the designer’s blog on Wednesday so I didn’t post it yet (but I did post where you can find it on Crystal’s blog).
