Moda Blockheads 4: (Block 4)
Happy Wednesday! Today is new block day for Moda Blockheads 4. Block 4 is “Spinner” by Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs. (Be sure to stop by her blog and say hi!) I was relieved to see such a simple block. Because I’m making the 4.5″ finished size, it’s always a relief to see bigger pieces, ha!
Fabric
I made one “Spinner” block using the blues of Love Note fabric. When making my blocks for Moda Blockheads 4, (or any sampler really), I’ll look at the blocks already made and see which colors or prints need more representation and go with those. Also – when using unidirectional prints like the “Alcott Text” or “Lovey Dot” heart print, you really have to pay attention closely when you’re making those half-square triangles!
The second set of “Spinner” blocks is in Flower Pot fabrics. (I’m making two of each block in Flower Pot fabric since they are so small.) I really appreciated being able to use some of the larger scale prints in the center since obviously that is harder to do with small blocks. Loved making this one!
