Sewcialites Quilt Along: Free Block of the Week (Block 8)
Time to meet another quilt block of the Sewcialites Quilt Along by Fat Quarter Shop. I jumped into the Quilt Along in the middle but am finally catching up with the preceding blocks. I’ll be posting one block each weekday (besides the Friday new release) until I’m caught up. Block 8 is “Soulful” by Joanna Figueroa.
Sewcialites Quilt Along Block 8
Fabric + Layout
Joanna knocked it out of the park with this block. I used red, grey, and white prints to play up a candy striped look in the center. Fabrics are from my Christmas Morning collection for Moda Fabrics (shipping July). I made the 6″ finished block size and will be making 40 blocks total for my layout. 10 red blocks + 12 green blocks + 16 grey blocks + 2 low volume blocks. The breakdown will make sense once you see my layout:
