Sunday is for WIPs: no. 3
Welp. I’m actually making good progress on the Concord quilt – the quilt with the overlapping rings. All the blocks are finished and I’m ready to arrange them into the quilt top. I’m not sure if my choice of the text print was good or not – the overlapping ring effect is more light/subtle than I expected. I’m interested to see how it looks once the quilt is all done and quilted. Maybe once the batting/backing layers are all together, the contrast of lighter prints becomes more pronounced?
If you’ll recall, this week’s WIP (work in progress) is a pattern tester of Concord from a couple years ago. I used Harvest Road fabric – which is sadly now out-of-print. (One of my current fabric collections, Flower Pot, would be the closest thing to it if you wish to recreate something like it.)
Concord is one of my most complex patterns. While I consider most of my patterns in an “advanced beginner” category, this one is a bit more intermediate. For one thing, there are a lot of pieces. But to me, the “trickiest” part of piecing this one is lining all the seams up. (I think this part may require a bit more piecing experience than someone who is brand new to quilting.)
Today I’ve been on vacation hangover but plan to get the Concord quilt top pieced together today. In between loads of laundry, of course. More progress updates next week!

The pattern just states honeybun cuts. Should I should do 1/2 in Honeybun & 1/2 in the wording fabric ?? Sorry to be a pest

Thanks for your questions. The Honeybun will be used toward all the “print” rings – and does not include the “accent” text rings. In the materials list, you will notice there is listed 2-1/2 yards of “grey accent fabric” referring to the accent of the cover quilt. You would just swap the text print in for that. Hope that helps. 🙂
