Moda Blockheads 4 (Block 23)
It’s been a busy week stitching up brand new quilt patterns that will debut soon. I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited for a release – you’re not going to want to miss out! For now, I’ve got a new batch of blocks for Moda Blockheads 4 free block of the week. Block 23 is “Gentleman’s Fancy” by Brenda Riddle. Download the free pattern by visiting Brenda’s blog here.
Block 23 “Gentleman’s Fancy”
This one tested my piecing skills a little – haha don’t look too closely! The piecing method used lots of triangles and by the end my blocks were quite misshapen. Luckily, they were larger than needed so I was able to trim them down and make them look more presentable. I’d be very interested to see what kind of tips and tricks Brenda has for piecing this one!
Fabric
The first block is made from my Love Note collection. I wanted to keep the color scheme more simple on this batch so the Love Note blocks is blue. Because the fabric is cut at all sorts of diagonals, my unidirectional text print may not have been an ideal choice. I love it anyway.
The second set is in Flower Pot fabric.
