It’s always fun to create with friends! Sherri McConnell (A Quilting Life) and I teamed up for a charm pack challenge – she stitched up a festive table runner, and I made a pair of Christmas pillows to match. You can find both projects in the December 2025 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting.

The Fabric

It all started with a charm pack of my Berry & Pine fabric for Moda Fabrics. This is my newest Christmas collection and is in shops now – though I hear it is already getting harder to find. I do think these projects would be beautiful to any Christmas collection but I especially love how they turned out in Berry & Pine. If you are interested in a kit for either of these projects, I recommend reaching out to your favorite local or online shop to see if they have the collection. Most shops are happy to help put a kit together for you.

“Charming Stars” Table Runner

When I was invited to design in this issue, I knew Sherri McConnell would make the perfect design partner! Big thanks to her for participating and coming up with such a darling table runner. Here’s a closer look at the runner, “Charming Stars.” It’s simple and sweet and would look good in any collection!

“Ornament Boxes” Pillows

Here’s a closer look the “Ornament Boxes” pillow set – I quilted them myself! For the grey pillow, I used Bernina stitch #4 to create rows of wavy lines. For the aqua version, I went with simple, straight lines. What I loved most about making these ornaments is how it shows off all the prints.
