Blockheads 6: Block 21 “Bowtie Ballet”
Add a little pirouette to your patchwork – Block 21 “Bowtie Ballet” twirls together tiny four-patches and half-square triangles in a graceful little dance of color and contrast. The little four-patches may look dainty, but trust me, they give this block its rhythm and sparkle. It’s one of those “worth every stitch” moments – the kind where you press the final seam and can’t help but smile at how the tiny details bring the whole thing together.
The first version of the “Bowtie Ballet” block is mocked up in my upcoming True Love fabric (arriving to shops May 2026) and is part of Moda Blockheads 6 – a free block of the month from Moda Fabrics. If you want to learn more about this quilt along, visit the Moda blog here.
Bowtie Ballet in Berry & Pine Fabric
I had fun experimenting with the color placement in each version – each one tells Its own story, whether soft and classic or bold and festive. For this Christmas version in Berry & Pine fabric, I used (4) different prints in the four-patches, rotating them to create a different look in each block. Can’t wait to see your “spin” on it!
