Mini Charmed {Butterfly Pillow or Mini Quilt}
Let your scraps take flight with this whimsical butterfly made from 2-1/2″ squares. With just a sprinkle of mini charm magic, you’ll create a sweet little masterpiece that will have your heart fluttering like it’s springtime. The hardest part? Deciding if you will finish it as a pillow or mini quilt!
Pattern Tidbits
This scrappy butterfly project is suitable for all skill levels. We use a beginner technique to make half-square triangles for the some of the pieces. Once those are ready, we just arrange and sew all the units into columns. If you wanted to add some fun texture, you could add some Chenille-It blooming bias to the pink “worm” rectangle before stitching it into the block! The instructions include details for finishing the block as a pillow or mini quilt.
Fabric
This is a fun little mini charm project. (If you’re like me, you probably have a treasure trove of those you’ve been collecting.) I’ve been loving mixing in the Magic Dot “Midnight” navy color with the Wild Honey collection. I haven’t gotten around to making a mini quilt version (yet!) but mocked one up for you to swoon over. Cute, right?
