Buzz, buzz, buzz! This quilt is all about the charm of the countryside – patchwork posies blooming beside cozy little beehives, stitched together in a delightful scrappy mix. Grab a Jelly Roll (or treasured scraps) and get ready for a quilt that is sure to be the talk of the hive!

Pattern Tidbits

This beehive quilt is my favorite quilt of the Wild Honey batch! Piecing it is a delight as we employ a beginner easy corner triangle technique. Please note the dainty flower blocks have some small pieces involved, but come together pretty quickly. These fancy flowers form a fancy Irish chain design to alternate with the beehive blocks. Overall, I’d consider it intermediate skill level.

Fabric

The “Bloom & Buzz” beehive quilt is made using a Jelly Roll + (4) golden fat quarters of Wild Honey fabric. This quilt features a beautiful blue background using one of the new colors of Magic Dot called “Breeze” (SKU 5230 54). Fun fact about this pattern – after making the blocks, there are enough Jelly Roll strips leftover for a scrappy blue border AND a scrappy binding. (The mockup below shows what that looks like… I opted to stitch up the version with a single-print border this time around.)
