The final new Christmas quilt is bound – and making spirits bright! ✨ Decked in Berry & Pine fabric, the “Somersault” quilt design transforms into a merry spectacle – a medley of Christmas ornament blocks on parade. Just snag 3 charm packs (or a Layer Cake) and begin crafting your very own set.

Pattern Tidbits

This festive little Christmas ornament quilt is considered “advanced beginner” skill level, using a combination of beginner techniques (half-square triangles + quarter-square triangles). When working with charm packs, I recommend pulling the (42) matching pairs first – then using the leftovers for the quarter-square triangle prints. Once all the blocks are stitched up, they are arranged in an alternating fashion to imitate the motion of a child somersaulting down a hill. (Or ornaments.) Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s a Christmas quilt exclusively – this one looks great in any fabric collection.

The Fabric

I’ve stitched this up using the Berry & Pine collection due in shops May 2025. (Be sure to request it now from your favorite local or online shop.) If using charm packs, keep in mind the design assumes the charm packs are of the same collection. I picked the “Forest” green Magic Dot print for the accent, but of course you can pick your favorite color!
