FREE Stuffed Heart Pattern
Today is Best Friends Day, ya’ll. So you know what I did? I stitched up a fresh batch of stuffed hearts in Love Blooms fabric. I mean… the collection was just begging for it. And good news. It’s a free pattern. It’s a super oldie I created a million years ago called “My Funky Valentines.” And even though they were created for valentines day, it makes sense to share them any time you want to spread a little love.
I had so much fun mixing and match the prints for this batch. The free stuffed heart pattern instructions demonstrate how to make a simple or layered (appliqué) version. But really, there are no real rules. Make these hearts any way you please! I started adding slanted pockets to mine a couple years ago (see the blog post HERE) and I can’t stop making them this way. The pocket is my favorite twist on the pattern as it is perfect to hold a little note, or gift card, or other little trinket you want to include.
You could keep the pocket simple, but I couldn’t do that. Mine are embellished with ric rac trim and this fancy twill “measuring tape” ribbon from Moda.
Stitch Up a Little Love
I’m sharing these today because of my lovely friends Jenny, Natalie, and Misty @ Missouri Star Quilt Co. Those ladies sent me a couple stuffed hearts for Best Friends Day. It was such happy mail to receive, I’m glad they felt inspired to share some love in my direction. (Just look at those sweet lil ducky buttons!)
What do you think about these stuffed hearts? Who would you share them with? Let me know in the comments below.

June 8, 2024 at 6:10 amI love the stuffed hearts!! I made some with the pocket for Valentines Day last year and gave them to a few friends. They absolutely loved them! I put something in the pocket but also packaged it in a cellophane bag with an extra goodie inside and tied it with a pretty ribbon. Thank you for such an adorable pattern. Your new post gives me inspiration again. Thank you

June 8, 2024 at 9:25 amNice pattern! But I’m not able just to download it as a PDF on my iPad, and have to go through adobe and install and fill forms! Is there a way to simply click on your link and get the free pattern? I have a ton of free patterns saved from other sources that are easily saved as a PDF without having to install another App.

June 23, 2024 at 11:37 pmPerhaps try again? I was able to download and print fine from my iPad without any extra steps. The icons for printing and downloading were at the top right after I clicked on the button for the file. Good luck.
