Sewcialites 2: (Block 3)
I’m so excited about today’s new block for Sewcialites 2 free block of the week because I just met its maker over the weekend at Quilt Market! Block 3 is “Patchy Days” by Jackie MacDonald of Sweetfire Road. Not only is Jackie talented, but also kind and cheery to match the beauty she creates. Block 3: “Patchy Days”
This block is perfect for advanced beginners – a few 4-patch blocks, a 5-patch block at the center, and a few flying geese units. Just love the versatility of this block and think you will enjoy stitching it up this week.
Fabric
Of course, you know by now I’m making a “digital” quilt blocks and have a few color options for you. The first option above uses Country Rose fabrics. Today, I focused on the neutral taupes and charcoal tones for a soft and restful look. This is scaled to represent the 6″ finished block size.
The second version is made up in Christmas Eve fabrics (shipping May 2023) for an alternate look. (You’ll notice I used the red “Merry Dot” for the background.)
