By the Chimney with Care Stocking Pattern
YAAAAYYYY! The day is finally here!
I’m totally excited to finally show you the sweet rustic stocking pattern I designed for American Patchwork & Quilting called By the Chimney with Care. If you know me well, you know that I absolutely adore making stockings and love an excuse to make more every year. When I designed Into the Woods, I imagined a woodland set of stockings. Never did I imagine I’d get to make them for such an amazing publication!
I suppose the reds/mint greens from my Into the Woods fabric collection would have been an obvious choice for Christmas stockings, but I just couldn’t help myself with the soft chocolate browns and sweet pinks.
Look for this stocking pattern in the newly released December 2014 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting:
A big thanks to everyone at American Patchwork & Quilting for being so wonderful to work with! I have been a fan of this publication for a very long time and it is a dream to be a part of it at last.
One more thing–don’t forget about the 20% discount in my shop using the promo code MODALOVE at checkout–today (9/30/14) is the last day it will be valid.

August 18, 2022 at 8:27 amI downloaded the patern: By the Chimney with Care from the Allpeople quilt website. I love the pattern and plan on making them for my great nieces and nephews. I am a bit confused on the directions. There does not happen to be a template for the triangle, so I have no idea how large to make it, using the 2 1/2 x 21″ strips. Also it states to add 9 1/2 ” to the top edge of the stocking pattern. This does not seem correct with my measurements. Also, it will only be, at the widest boot 10″ not 11 1/4″ and the length will be short. This is according to the template pieces measurements. Can you please help? Thank you
