Dessert Roll Quilts Fat Eighth quilts

“Glam Squad” Quilt in Gingiber Fabric

When a pretty fabric collection is just begging to be cut up and stitched into something extra special… For me, recently it was Gingiber’s Imaginary Flowers collection for Moda Fabrics. (I am just smitten with this collection!) Making a decision on what to make with it has been difficult… Enter the “Glam Squad” tile quilt. I designed this star tile quilt for my upcoming Magic Dot collection, and because of the designs many pieces/intricacies, I found myself needing to make a tester quilt. Kismet!

The Fabric

Now I need to clarify – this charming little tile quilt is *mostly* made of Imaginary Flowers fabric. (Can we talk about how I don’t get a lot of time to sew with other designers’ collections? This is always a real treat for me!) Yup, I got my hands on a bundle early, and added in some of my own fabrics for background, border, binding, etc. I’ve put a little materials list for you since I know you’re going to ask!

Materials Needed

  • (21) fat eighths for overlapping “frame” prints (fat eighth bundle Imaginary Flowers)
  • 1-5/8  yards charcoal accent print (Moda Bella Solid 9900 284 “Charcoal”)
  • 5-1/8 yards background print (Magic Dot SKU #5230 39)
  • 1-1/4 yards border print (Love Note SKU #5156 11 – technically out of print now, sorry!)
  • 3/4 yard binding print (Magic Dot SKU #5230 36)
  • 4-3/4 yards backing print (I used Moda Snuggles SKU 60000 15 “White”)
  • 83” x 83” batting

Quilt Details

Here’s the rest of the details about this charming little tile quilt. It’s always lovely to see how the quilter makes it come to life with the beautiful edge-to-edge stitching! I am a real sucker for the dense quilting.

This pattern will be beautiful using your “Oliver’s Flower Market”. I love this line of your fabric designs! I still have bundles of fat quarters, charm packs, and jelly rolls that I purchased so long ago. Thanks for all of your beautiful fabric.

I love this! I always like seeing quilt patterns done in fabric other than the one it was originally made with.
