Sewcialites 2: (Block 24)
I’ve been out of town all week and am just getting back but wanted to make sure and post the final block of Sewcialites 2 free block of the week! (It’s hard to believe it’s the last one!) Block 24 is “Energize” by Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings.
This “Energize” block is a darling one. It’s classified as “intermediate” skill level by Fat Quarter Shop and uses an easy corner triangles technique. My recommendation, as always, is to press those easy corners out FIRST before trimming the 1/4″ seam allowance. (This helps keep a rectangular shape of the parallelograms.)
Fabric
The first block is mocked up in Country Rose fabric (in shops now) and is scaled to represent the 6″ finished block size. This one reminds me of a flower so I placed the colors to make it reflect that.
The second version is mocked up in Christmas Eve fabrics (expected May 2023).
I think the block is pretty cool if you switch those V-shaped units 180 degrees… It’s funny how a simple change can create something totally different.
