Moda Blockheads 7: Block 2 “Twinkle”
Checking in with week 2 of Moda Blockheads 7 free block of the week – and I’m already behind. I’ve pieced my blocks – just haven’t had a chance to take a picture, so enjoy a mockup instead. Fabric is Peppermint Cocoa fabric arriving May 2027 – but you could get a similar look with my Berry & Pine collection from last year. This week’s block uses FPP technique (foundation paper piecing) which I haven’t done in a while! I do enjoy it, it’s different and a good way to mix things up. Moda’s got a video up HERE for you to follow along if you’re new to FPP.
THE SCRAPPY LATTICE LAYOUT
I’ve come up with a scrappy lattice layout for my quilt using a nice strip-piecing method. The dark green squares are placeholders for future MB7 blocks – but here’s what it looks like with the blocks plugged in thusfar. It’s going to be so cute!

Speaking of layout, I should have the free pattern ready soon! It uses (18) strips 2″ x WOF, 1/4 yard corner accent print, and 3 yards of cream fabric. (I misquoted the amounts in my original post – sorry about that! I hadn’t finished writing it yet…)
For more information on Moda Blockheads 7, please visit my original blog post HERE! I’ve got more details – including a full archive of the block links that I update weekly.
