Sewcialites 3: FREE Block of the Month – Block 5 “Little Love”
There’s just something about a tiny heart block that gets me every time…
I’m excited to share my contribution to Sewcialites 3 – a free block of the month quilt along hosted by Fat Quarter Shop. My block is called “Little Love,” and is the #5 release for this season. Isn’t she sweet?
“Little Love” is exactly what it sounds like – a petite, heart-centered block that’s simple, classic, and just a little bit flirty. I wanted something that felt timeless but still playful… the kind of block you could sew into a sampler or let it shine all on its own.
I made my block samples using Wild Honey fabrics, leaning into the soft florals and warm pinks to really let that heart pop. (PS have you seen the finished version Fat Quarter Shop is making in Wild Honey in the 3″ finished size? To die for.)

Let’s talk about layout (because you know I had to…)
If you look closely, I made two versions – and this is where things get fun.
The first block (3″ finished size with the green accent) keeps everything nice and by the book.
The second (6″ finished size with the golden accent) version? I shifted thing around a little bit just to create a softer, slightly unexpected layout. (The changes – referring to the pattern: I cut the B rectangles from the pink floral print instead of white. I also cut the F squares from the white background print.) This is your nudge to play!

Sew yours today…
