“Woven” Quilt in True Love Fabric
Over, under, easy as pie. That’s the vibe with “Woven” – a Jelly Roll-friendly quilt that comes together thanks to a little strip-piecing magic. The interlaced design gives it that timeless woven look – no loom required. Quick to piece, fun to sew, and bound to be a family favorite.
Pattern Tidbits
The Fabric
This “Woven” quilt is made with a Jelly Roll of True Love fabric, using 30 of the 40 of the precut 2.5″ strips. It also uses a navy accent print (Magic Dot #5230 63 “Midnight”), a pale blue accent print (#5230 64 “Robin’s Egg), and a delightful new background print (Magic Dot #5230 61 “Cream Daydream”). Even though I used blues for the accent, you could always change those out for the taupe or green colors if you like.

Tips & Tricks
“Woven” feels like a sewing shortcut thanks to an easy strip-piecing technique. (If you’re new to strip-piecing, you’re going to love it!) Instead of cutting dozens and dozens of little squares and rectangles, you sew whole Jelly Roll strips together first and then make the needed sub-cuts as directed in the instructions. It’s a big time-saver.

My only tip when sewing the strip-sets together is to be consistent with seam allowance (both within each strip-set AND from one set to the next) and to take care when pressing as not to warp the seams. (When pressing with steam, handle the strip-set minimally.)
