“Holiday House” Quilt in Berry & Pine Fabric
‘Tis the season for cozy homes full of cheer. We’re dreaming of a merry little neighborhood decorated in lush greenery, berry sprigs, winter florals, herringbone, and a dash of polka dots! Create your own collection of holiday houses nestled in patchwork pines. When it comes to Christmas, there’s no place like home.
Pattern Tidbits
“Holiday House” is considered advanced-beginner skill level. Sure, we’re working with two different blocks in this winter neighborhood layout – but take a closer look and you will see we are just piecing rectangles and squares! There are some smaller pieces (especially with the trees), but I’ve included tips and tricks all throughout the instructions.
Fabric
This sweet little patchwork village was designed for my upcoming Berry & Pine fabric collection for Moda Fabrics (in shops May 2025). This is a fat quarter quilt – and each print will yield (1) house and roof set. From there, you can mix and match prints to create the combos you like. (If you want to add some additional print options for roofs, just add a fat eighth for each additional print option.) For additional info, visit the full materials list here.
As you can see, I imagined “Holiday House” two different ways. I had a tough time deciding which one to piece first. I love the grey background best in many ways, but the white background ended up winning since it looked more like a blanket of snow. Which one is your favorite?
