Playing Cupid (Heart and Arrow Quilt)

Get ready to fall head over heels with the strike of Cupid’s golden arrow! Made with a Layer Cake or fat eighths, this charming quilt design is full of pretty patchwork hearts sure to make yours skip a beat. For anyone who loves to sew in pretty shades of pink and red, this “Playing Cupid” quilt is a match made in heaven (or in the sewing room).

Pattern Tidbits

“Playing Cupid” has two different heart blocks to piece (6 of them are striped hearts) + 22 golden arrows. I would consider this heart and arrow quilt “advanced beginner” skill level – using flying geese and easy corner triangle techniques. I have all the arrows pointing left, but you could always alternate them row to row if you want to mix it up! This was a cheery one to piece.

Isn’t this custom quilting divine? I have drooled over Melissa’s gorgeous quilting on Instagram and knew I just had to send this one to her. So dreamy.

Vanessa, you’ve outdone yourself! I’ve already pre-ordered 3 yards of this entire line with 5 yards of each of the polka dots fabrics. I’m planning on using this for Christmas projects. Hoping you’ll do a Halloweenish fabric line or least a polka dot selection of fabrics – they make the best backgrounds!

Thank you, Gina! I actually have a Halloween fabric line that just arrived in shops called “Hey Boo.” You can search for it and all the related posts on my blog here or in the shop!

Hi Vanessa! These new quilts are so cute. I can’t wait to make something with your new fabric collection and no…I have never made a vakentines quilt but going to give it a try.
