Into the Woods fabric

The Big 30 – Fabric Giveaway

It’s my birthday, ya’ll and I’m ALLLLL about the number 30 today.

Into the Woods by Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique for Moda

Speaking of the number 30, did you know that Into the Woods has 30 different prints? I guess it’s a sign I’d better give some away…how about a fat eighth bundle and a handful of my patterns. Sound good?

Into the Woods by Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique for Moda

Because Into the Woods was inspired by my favorite bedtime stories, you can enter to win by leaving a comment telling me what your favorite bedtime story is. I’ll pick one comment at random first thing Monday morning (7/28/14). ***Contest now closed*** Because of the number 30, I am also offering a 30% discount in my shop off anything using PIONEERBABY as the promo code–good through the rest of July. And what the heck, if you buy 3 patterns or more, I’ll sweeten the deal by throwing in a mini charm pack (while supplies last, no promo code needed).

Into the Woods mini charm packs by Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique for Moda

The last decade of my life was pretty cool, and I’m definitely looking forward to what’s up ahead.

    Happy Happy Birthday!!!

One Minute Bedtime Bunny Tales were my favorite when I was really little. My brother and I usually tried to negotiate for "one more" and since they were so short, my parents often caved. My dad kept reading to me at bedtime until I was in 7th grade (I think to make sure that "lights out" was honored and books were out of reach). In the later years Dealing with Dragons and Harry Potter were the top choices.

My favorite bedtime story… that one is rough. I pretty much loved everything that my mom read me. She is a great reader. My brother and I (now in our late 20s) both still remember the "A Story a Day Till Christmas" book (it is highly possible that we still read it when we are at home. lol). But perhaps my favorite is from when I was 13 and in the hospital. My vision was blurry and I could not read for myself. So my mom brought a book by that a friend of her's said was wonderful. We had never heard of it before… It was The Sorcerer's Stone – My mother read me the first Harry Potter book. She introduced me to a fabulous place for my imagination that I still love today. Bedtime stories are all about imagination and letting it fly!. Thanks so much for the chance.

I am more than twice your age so I would say my favorite story I read to my children was a story called "Jimmy and the Jam Jars" from Uncle Arthurs Bedtime Stories by Arthur Maxwell. I read this to my children over and over: Jimmy's Mom had just made a whole batch of Strawberry Jam and told Jimmy to continue to play with his cars while she went to visit a neighbor. She told him not to go into the kitchen. After a little while he became bored and started walking around the house and into the kitchen. He saw all those wonderful jars of jam up on the shelf, a side board in those days, and thought Mom wouldn't mind him trying just one jar. As he climbed up on the first cabinet he didn't realize the second cabinet was not attached to the lower one. He went to get a jar, holding onto the cabinet for support, and down came the cabinet, all the jars, and Jimmy too. Mom was just coming to the house and heard the loud crash, running into the kitchen to see Jimmy surrounded by jam. "Oh my Jimmy, she said, are you hurt?" After checking and cleaning him she found not one scratch, but her tone changed and she scolded him for not obeying her. Jimmy remembered that for a long time.

I love this new line and even if I do not win, I will be buying this bundle. Happy Birthday to you, Lella and many, many, more. jlblvn@gmail.com

Happy birthday Vanessa!! My favorite stories growing up were ones my dad made up, we called them "Henry stories" because the were all about a boy named Henry and his family. But now that I'm a mom, I'm terrible at just making up stories (my husband is great) so I love reading to them – chronicles of narnia (for older kids) or anything from the golly sisters to mr putter and tabby (for the little ones).

My most found bedtime story is, Winnie the Pooh. I can still feel the cozy fire on my back and the soft quilt my great grandma made around my feet. My mom would read Until all six of us kids were asleep and it was always the classic Winnie the Pooh tales. Just thinking about it makes me smile because I can hear her voice saying, "oh bother!" and all of us kids laughing until our sides hurt!!

I don't think my other one posted. But no matter what story we were told it started with "once there was a giraff, and that was half. Put it in a stall and that was all." Of course that was no real story so we had to pull one out of dad haha

My favorite was one about a family of mice and a magic chair. They'd sit in it and make a wish, reach into te seat cushion and pulled out what they wished for instead of lint. I can't remember what it was called.

Happy belated birthday! I hope you had a great birthday! I was really sad to be in my 30s but now that I'm almost half way through I'd have to say it's already been better than my 20s! My favorite bedtime stories were the ones my grandma told me. I know retell them to my boys.

My favorite is probably Berenstein Bears also. Very happy birthday to you! I celebrated by getting three of your patterns that I've been coveting and I'm so excited! Starstruck is my very favorite quilt in all the work, particularly the baby Scrumptious one you made.

I have always loved "Pünkelchen". That is a little man, just a few inch tall, that lives in a mousehole and at night does surprises for the children who live in that house. Too cute. Like your fabric. Love this line. 🙂

Happy Birthday – 30 is such a great age! My kids always enjoyed anything by Dr Seuss when it came to bedtime stories, because that way they could blame the giggles for not wanting to go to sleep!

Happy Birthday! I think I deleted my other post – if not this is a duplicate LOL. Dr. Seuss was always good – as is Babar and Curious George!
