Merry Blooms Quilt in Peppermint Cocoa Fabric
While the garden sleeps, the patchwork blooms. “Merry Blooms” brings flower season indoors with rows of cheery flowers dressed in their Christmas best. It’s simple, sweet, and wonderfully cozy – the kind of quilt that makes you want to turn on the Christmas music, make something warm to drink, and snuggle up by the fireplace.
Pattern Tidbits
This one’s simple but my favorite of the new ones! Sometimes simplicity just wins out. We’re using a beginner half-square triangle technique so the blocks themselves are super easy to make and perfect for any skill level. I think it becomes more advanced beginner with the skinny sashing, but overall just a lovely finish. The hardest part for me is always taking the time to trim the half-square triangles – a bit tedious, but so satisfying in the end when they look so crisp.

Materials Needed
You could technically use *fat eighths* – but it’s a tight squeeze (you need to be able to cut 8-1/2″ x 20″) so I’m recommending fat quarters, just to be safe. Fabric is my Peppermint Cocoa collection for Moda Fabrics (coming to shops in May 2027).
- (21) fat quarters assorted prints*
- (1) fat eighth red accent print for block centers (#5230 83 “Scarlet”)
- (1) fat eighth dark green accent print for sashing squares (#5230 20 “Forest”)
- 1 1/8 yards border print (#5285 11)
- 3-3/4 yards background print (#5230 81)
- 3/4 yard binding print (#5283 13)
