Snow Blossoms
Winter in Florida always makes me miss freshly fallen snow, beautiful snowflake’d sweaters, and chilly evenings with cups of homemade wassail. Not that I am really complaining about this 60-something degree weather…
I’ve tried to bring a little winter into my home with my newest quilt, Snow Blossoms. The quilt design is an ode to one of my favorite winter emblems: the Nordic Snowflake.
It was fun to make, especially to pick out all the fabrics. (Moda’s Vintage Modern by Bonnie & Camille was really the perfect collection for this design; I did throw in a few Bella solids, as well as some matching Marmalade fabric for the back.)
The pattern is available in my shop in paper or PDF form.

January 1, 2013 at 3:02 pmVanessa: I am loving this quilt. I am also from NJ and living here in the Tampa bay area for 28 years. My adult children have never experienced a white Christmas. I sometimes feel bad about that. This quilt is just stunning. I am such a novice quilter do you think to hard for me to attempt. I am glad you are taking some time off I so remember Nesting before my childrend were born. Enjoy. Happy New year.

January 3, 2013 at 12:00 pmThis is gorgeous: I have a huge crush on Nordic sweaters, too (this is definately the quilt to snuggle under/hide behind when I watch 'The Killing'!). With every good wish for you and your new baby x
